plug-sockets-in-cambodia-2

Most of tourists wonder what power socket do they use in Cambodia? Here is the answer:

In Cambodia the standard voltage is 230 V and the frequency is 50 Hz. You can use your electric appliances in Cambodia, if the standard voltage in your country is in between 220 - 240 V (as is in the UK, Europe, Australia and most of Asia and Africa). Manufacturers take these small deviations into account.
If the standard voltage in your country is in the range of 100 V - 127 V (as is in the US, Canada and most South American countries), you need a voltage converter in Cambodia. You can find voltage converters at Amazon. You can also consider a combined power plug adapter/voltage converter. Hope this information is helpful when you packing for Cambodia Adventure.

By 2014, the total electricity supply in Cambodia was 4,861 GWh, a big leap from the 4,051 GWh in 2013. Generation of electricity within Cambodia also grew very significantly, from 1,770 GWh in 2013 to 3,058 GWh in 2014, largely from  new hydro and coal-fired plants coming on stream. (The balance of supply is imported, mostly from Vietnam and Thailand.)
