Tourists can buy a local SIM card for their mobile phones at the arrival terminals of all airports in Cambodia as well as at the Border Checkpoints. The service staff at the booth will take care of all the administrations and insert the SIM for you. Also, you can buy prepaid SIM cards at phone shops or official phone company stores in town.
By law to buy a SIM card you need to bring along your passport with valid VISA (if applicable) to the telephone office or booth for registration. There are five mobile phone service providers in Cambodia: MobiTel (T) 012, Beeline (T) 090, Smart Mobile (T) 010 & 016, Cube (T) 013, MetFone (T)097. Tourist SIM cards are available from around US$2 for each one and they last for 2 weeks.
